We at
Perfect industries can
offer any paint system
as desired by the customer
. Currently we are offering
the following paint systems
POLYESTER,
PVDF,
Plastisol &
Polyamides
There
are several paint systems
on the market applicable
to each type of product
requirement.
Each
and every system has a
different curing CYCLE,
which is specified by
the paint manufacturer.
It is most important that
the data sheet supplied
with the paint is studied
very carefully prior to
running on the coating
line.
The
most important information
a coil coater should be
looking for is peak metal
temperature and paint
dwell time.
Peak
Metal Temperature
This
is a required temperature
that the substrate/metal
has to reach to ensure
the paint is cured. Typical
polyester paints require
peak metal temperature
of between 200 degrees
centigrade up to 240 degrees
centigrade. These vary
and are dependable on
the individual suppliers.
The curing cycle should
also be of a gradual process
for example, the first
curing zone to be at lowest
temperature rising to
highest temperature being
the last zone. As a rough
guide the paint should
reach its peak metal temperature
about two thirds of the
oven length. The peak
metal temperature is then
maintained for the rest
of the ovens length.
Dwell
time
This
is the period of time
that the paints peak metal
time is maintained for
the rest of the oven.
It
is most important that
this information is provided
by the paint supplier.
A dwell time can also
vary from two seconds
to as much as twelve seconds.
This dwell time ensures
that the paint is absolutely
cured without question.
For the coil coater should
be in dispute with the
supplier then there is
a positive and concise
way of proving this by
way of using an instrument
known in the trade as
an oven trackers.
POLYESTER
This
is typically used as a
more economic paint system.
This system is used where
the atmoshphere is normal
and severe corrosion resistance
is not called for.
This system finds it’s
usage in general roofing,
cladding & interiors
mainly
PVDF
This
is a more expensive version
used to lengthen the life
of the total system. It
has better corrosion and
UV resistance. The fading
resistance is far more
superior for this type
of system. This system
is recommended in severe
atmospheric environment
and mostly in marine environments.
This system is used mainly
in Exterior roofing and
cladding and the composite
material industry.
